What this map shows

Capital Flows is a curated editorial record of European financing announcements, not a market census or independently audited feed. Announcement dates are not publication dates.

Relationships, not payment routes

Lines connect source-reviewed investor locations to the company location for the selected deal. An investor anchor can represent a disclosed office or a fund manager, not the fund domicile. They do not identify the bank account, paying entity or route of a payment. Equal-width lines indicate participation, not proportional allocations. Planned investments remain planned.

Amounts and missing data

The company amount is the announced transaction total. Individual investor contributions are labelled separately only when disclosed by a source. Unknown amounts are undisclosed, never zero or estimates. Different currencies are not added together or ranked as equivalent values.

Company and investor markers use reviewed approximate city-centre anchors, not office addresses. Investor locations may represent a disclosed headquarters, office or fund manager, not the origin of a payment. Geographic coverage remains partial. A missing marker does not mean a company has no investors. Missing source links and coordinates are reported as gaps; investor text is not automatically converted into verified relationships.

Data and publication

This beta reads only Deal Log records explicitly approved for public publication. Private editorial fields are excluded server-side. Published entries are checked every five minutes; a last successful read may remain visible for at most fifteen minutes if the source is unavailable. No historical or example dataset replaces an unsuccessful read.

City-centre anchors and round-specific relationships are matched against stable Notion identifiers, current seats, dates and sources. Changed or new locations require review. A verified address or a linked investor does not by itself establish participation in a particular round. Approximate city centres use GeoNames (CC BY) and the previously reviewed map; they are not office coordinates. Participation and location sources are linked on each deal page. Coverage may be a subset of the announced syndicate.

Technical privacy information and publication status

This app stores your explicit light/dark preference in your browser's local storage. The production website uses Umami Cloud for usage analytics. The prepared integration excludes local previews and automated checks; this does not remove previously recorded visits. No advertising-network pixels are integrated. Hosting uses Cloudflare; map libraries and world boundaries are requested from jsDelivr, so your browser connects to those providers. The public API uses your IP address for request limiting. Notion credentials remain server-side; the browser receives only the allowlisted published data.
